Kleinmann’s Tortoises or their Scientific name Testudo kleinmanni live in deserts and sandy hot habitats. Usually they live on sand or gravel or scattered rocks and wadis. They are not so active when the weather is super hot or super cold. During warm seasons they spend the mornings and evening working and the rest of the resting. The Kleinmann's tortoises were sighted in Egypt and Libya but their home in Egypt is nearly destroyed and now they are very close to extinction. Which means that they are Critically Endangered. According to The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN an organization working in the field of nature). Less than Three Testudo generations ago. There is a difference in size and length in the kleinmann’s tortoises sexuality.Their maximum adult shell size is 14.4 cm which means that they are very small. They are the smallest land turtle in the Northern Hemisphere.. Kleinmann's Tortoise begins to mate when about 5 years old and mating season is in march but in reserves they are observed in April and August to November. Tortoises dig their nest in the sand by alternating movements with their hands like their related species the es. Most tortoises lay fewer than 20 eggs and small bodied tortoises like the kleinmann's tortoise lay fewer than 5 eggs.
