The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate

Today we listened to The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. Something that stood out to me so far is the way the narrator reads the book. He reads in such a manner that is sounds plain and boring. It sounds like he surrendered and like he is defeated. Even when he says a joke it sounds sad. I feel like that really sets the mood.
